Monument catalogue

Catalogue of architectural monuments in and around Telč.

Telč became a regional centre of cultural and religious significance thanks to the Jesuit order, and thus the 17th and 18th centuries mark a very important chapter in the history of the town as well as the manor. The Baroque period gave Telč its unique architectural character, and delicately complemented the older Renaissance features of this representative seat of the lords of Hradec. The period also left its mark on the local area, seeding the town and its surroundings with smaller sacral sights that served as resting points for frequent pilgrimages and processions. These small sacral sights are typical examples of the cultural landscape marking the countryside on the border between Bohemia and Moravia.
